Question

What is the difference between fleecy web and moleskin?

Answer

They both are made of 100%cotton flannel and adhere to the skin. They both are used for similar problems such as calluses and corns.
The fleecy web has a raised fleecy surface, the moleskin does not. Both can be used for shearing stress. This is when the forces are parallel or opposite such as occurs when shoes are too big or sloppy. Shearing stress results in a callus formation.

Torsional stress, the pivoting or twisting motion of the foot such as racquetball sports, can cause corn or callus formation. These sports usually cause shearing or compressional stress to the 1st MPJ. Due to the raised fleecy surface on fleecy web it is a better choice in this situation.

Fleecy web is used more by footcare practitioners. Moleskin is more available in a retail setting.
