If you need to support one or two metatarsal heads then the teardrop shape is best. The pad needs to be situated directly under the MT head needing the support.
The kidney shapes works best to support all the MT heads. The size is selected to support all the MT heads. A man would probably need a size 3 whereby a woman a size 2.
