First Aid Procedures:
Eye:Immediately flush contaminated eye(s) with an eye wash unit providing a minimum of 4 gallons of water per minute continuously for 15 mins with hands-free, stay open feature and a prevention design to insure hot water will not accidentally harm the worker.
If an eye wash station is not available flush with lukewarm, gently flowing water for at least 15 minutes (timed by a clock) while holding eyelid(s) open. Do not interrupt flushing. Take care not to rinse contaminated water into unaffected eye. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin: As quickly as possible, flush contaminated area with lukewarm gently running water for at least 20-30 minutes while removing contaminated clothing. Get medical attention. completely decontaminate clothing, shoes, watch bands and belts before re-use or discard.
Ingestion:Never give anything by mouth is victim is rapidly losing consciousness, is unconscious or convulsing. Have victim rinse mouth thoroughly with water. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Have victim drink about 300mls (10 oz.) of water or milk if available. If vomiting occurs naturally, rinse mouth and repeat administration of water. Obtain medical attention immediately.
Inhalation:Move victim to fresh air. Support breathing if neccesary. Seek medical attention immediately.
Disposal:Triple rinse the container with water and dispose in an incinerator or in an approved landfill. Do not reuse empty containers. Solutions to be discarded can be "neutralized" with Glutacide neutralizer (sodium metabisulphite) and flushed to sewer with a large volume of water. A glutaraldehyde levels of <10ppm, no detrimental effect on functioning waste water treatment systems or the environment have been observed.
