It is a large broad file that is useful to smooth sharp edges or reduce the bulk of the nail. Caution Note: When the file is new it will reduce the nail very quickly. The edge of the file is quite sharp and may need to be guarded.
Always file using long, firm strokes. File towards you so the file does not cause the nail to pull away from the nail bed. File in one direction only, not back and forth. Be cautious when filing so not to reduce the nail plate too much.
